John S. Saul, a Canadian political economist and activist born in 1938, has dedicated his work to the liberation struggles of southern Africa since the 1960s. Recognized for his contributions, he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2004, received an honorary doctorate from Victoria University in 2010, and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Canadian Association of African Studies in 2011. He is the author of over twenty books.
